Matsushita to make more plasma panels

TOKYO: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd, the maker of Panasonic products, said yesterday yesterday it planned to boost its output capacity for plasma display panels (PDP) but details had yet to be decided.

The comments come one day after the Nihon Keizai Shimbun business daily said Matsushita and Toray Industries Inc would invest a combined 90 billion yen (US$786mil) to build the world's biggest PDP factory and quadruple output.
