Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) is implementing a new enhanced online security feature known as Transaction Authorisation Code or TAC, effective today, for customers performing online banking transactions at Maybank2U.com.
TAC is a unique 6-digit code that will be compulsory for specific online transactions for Maybank2u.com customers in addition to their username and password.
“Maybank is the first bank to introduce this online security feature. TAC is gaining acceptance as an enhanced security feature and has been successfully implemented in Singapore,” Maybank senior executive vice-president and head of retail financial services group, Johar Che Mat said in a statement yesterday.
Customers can obtain a TAC immediately from any Maybank Kawanku ATM, or through Kawanku Phone Banking.
Alternatively, it can be obtained via Maybank2u.com where customers will receive their TAC via SMS sent to their pre-registered mobile numbers.
Customers who wish to receive their TAC via Kawanku Phone Banking must register for this service while those who wish to receive their TAC via SMS from Maybank2u.com must first register their mobile number at any Kawanku ATM or through Kawanku Phone Banking.
