DiGi user base and earnings expected to beat forecasts

DiGi.Com Bhd, the country’s third largest cellular operator, should see its subscriber base expand by 28% and earnings rise by 94% this year, exceeding industry expectations, according to the research unit of a local stockbroking company.

AmResearch Sdn Bhd, in revising upwards its growth projection for DiGi after it reported sterling first-quarter results last week, said it expected the telco's customer base to increase from 2.42 million to 2.83 million by the end of the year, and a further 13% to 3.19 million by end-2005.
