THE local stock market fell for the fifth day in a row yesterday as investors took profit ahead of the four-day, holiday-extended weekend amid continued uncertainty over the market's direction in the near term.
Heavyweight stocks like Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Telekom Malaysia Bhd led the overall slide in share prices, pulling down the KL Composite Index (KLCI) by a further 11.51 points to 838.21. At that level, the benchmark index has lost some 37 points in five days.
