JTI aims to capture rivals’ market share

With the local cigarette market reaching maturity in terms of growth, JT International Bhd is now looking to lure customers away from its rivals to boost its market share. 

JTI vice-president and general manager Ng Siew Thong said that since the market was expected to grow less than 3% this year, versus 2.2% last year, “our strategy is to take market share from our competitors.”
