  • Bintulu Port: The largest single liquefied natural gas terminal in the world has embarked on a RM400mil expansion project to develop a second inner harbour, comprising a 1,000m general cargo wharf, a dedicated palm oil terminal and bulking facilities, and an operation building and yard.It is also eyeing transhipment of palm oil and other edible oils from southern Philippines and other countries besides the existing Sabah and Kalimantan markets.It expects its transhipment-containerised cargo to grow to 200,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) next year from the projected 160,000 TEUs this year. Stock Watch On BIPORT 

  • WCT: WCT currently has an order book of RM1bil that would keep it busy for two years, and it has started generating income from projects in the Middle East and India. Its recently completed flagship project in the Persian Gulf, the Formula One motor racing circuit in Bahrain is expected to help it win more projects in the region. The company also expects toll collection of its three Indian highways, one completed and two others to be completed next year, to contribute RM22mil annually to group profits, giving it a steady income stream.WCT has made a tender for a RM500mil project in Doha and has a 10% stake in a consortium bidding for US$2bil project in Dubai. Stock Watch On WCT 

  • Salcon: Its first water treatment plant in Changle, Shandong, built by 75%-owned joint-venture Shandong Changle Salcon Water Supply Co, is expected to showcase its expertise in the water treatment business. Thereof, Salcon is confident of securing many more water projects in the province by year end. It had earlier this year showed optimism in securing at least 20%-30% of the over 12 water treatment and sewerage projects it has bided on, locally and overseas, totalled at RM1.5bil. A two-year contract valued at RM51.04mil was recently awarded by the Perak Water Board to its 70:30 joint-venture with Trans MSB Sdn Bhd. Stock Watch On SALCON 

  • Petronas Dagangan: The Petronas retail arm expects a 15%-20% growth in petrol sales volume this year from the estimated 4.2 billion litres for the previous year ended March 31, 2004. The company, which has about 12% market share in the local auto lubricant market, also aims to grow lubricant sales by a double-digit. It plans to grow it current network of 690 petrol stations nationwide by another 30-35 this year concentrating in high demand areas such as the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor. The expansion plan is estimated to cost about RM200mil. Stock Watch On PDB-U 

  • TIME dotCom: ITS transition from a telco-based set-up to a wireless-based operation has been reflected in its results for fiscal 2003, which showed a small profit compared with RM662.6mil net loss in 2002. Having kept quiet for months, it now repositions itself to be a major telecommunications broadband player with the goal of capturing 30% of the nation's broadband market by 2005 through its upcoming Webbit wireless broadband service, designed for small businesses and residential users. Much of its revenue up to 2007 would still come from existing businesses. It is reinvesting in its networks of 43,000-plus payphones. Stock Watch On TIMECOM
