SIME ENGINEERING SERVICES BHD said 70%-owned unit Sime SembCorp Engineering Sdn Bhd has secured an oil and gas services contract worth RM285.6mil from Talisman Malaysia Ltd. 

Sime SembCorp received a letter of award for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of topsides for Bunga Raya-E CO2 removal platform, it said in a statement. 

The works on the platform, located off the shores of Terengganu, were expected to take 16 months, it added. –AFX-Asia 

D'NONCE TECHNOLOGY BHD posted a pre-tax profit of RM1.52mil in the first-half year ended Feb 29 against a loss of RM1.10mil recorded in the previous corresponding period. 

For the second quarter ended Feb 29, the company reported a pre-tax profit of RM576,000 compared with a loss of RM531,000 previously. – Bernama 

Country View Bhd recorded a pre-tax profit of RM305,000 in the first quarter ended Feb 29 against a pre-tax loss of RM425,000 in the previous corresponding quarter. – Bernama 

KULIM (M) BHD, Affin Merchant Bank Bhd and HLG Securities Sdn Bhd have signed an underwriting agreement for Kulim's proposed renounceable rights issue of 47,289,060 new ordinary shares of 50 sen together with 47,289,060 detachable free warrants at an issue price of RM1.50 each on the basis of one new ordinary share of 50 sen each, together with one free warrant for every four existing shares held in Kulim. 

The proposed rights issue with warrants will raise approximately RM70.9mil in proceeds for Kulim to part finance its proposed acquisitions of equity interests in Kumpulan Bertam Plantations Bhd and EPA Management Sdn Bhd, and for the working capital requirements of the group. – Bernama 

FORESWOOD GROUP BHD said Bursa Malaysia has approved an extension of time from March 22 to April 19, 2004 to enable the company to submit its applications to the relevant authorities in compliance with paragraph 5.1 (b) of Practice Note No. 4/2001. – Bernama 

Advance Synergy CAPITAL BHD said it has written to Bursa Malaysia for an extension of time of up to Dec 31, 2004, to regularise its level of operations in accordance with the provisions of Practice Note No. 10/2001. – Bernama 

PROMTO BHD said in a statement that Tan Kim Soon has been appointed chairman, while Hyder Shahril Mohd Shukor has been named deputy chairman. The appointments took effect on April 20. 

Promto manufactures electrical fittings, pipes and window louvres. – AFX-Asia
