LONDON: Fitch Ratings has raised its forecast for global economic growth this year to 3.6% from 2.8%, but has cut its projection for euro area growth to 1.6% from 1.8%.
The credit rating agency said in a research report yesterday that stronger-than-expected recoveries in the United States and Japan had pushed the global forecast up, but the medium-term outlook remained clouded by imbalances within and between the world's major economies.
