Proton Holdings comes under selling pressure

Shares in Proton Holdings Bhd, which has assumed the listed status of Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton) following a group restructuring, took a beating on their first day of trade on the MSEB yesterday, closing 70 sen or some 7% lower than the Proton stock's last traded price of RM9.85 before its suspension three weeks ago. 

The counter came under selling pressure right from the start. It opened at RM9.70 and fell to a low of RM9.10 before regaining some ground to end the day at RM9.15 on volume of 695,000 shares.
