SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - A sharp decline in aid shipments from South Korea to the impoverished North amid renewed bilateral tensions contributed to an 18.6 percent drop in two-way trade for the first three months of the year, officials said Thursday.
A news release from the Unification Ministry attributed the first-quarter decline to a drop in South Korean aid shipments to the North prompted by concern over the communist country's nuclear weapons programs.
