THERE were mixed reactions to the announcement by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal yesterday that the price of steel bars and billets would be revised upwards.
While housing developers have lauded the move as one that could alleviate .the shortage situation, providing a degree of certainty to supplies, other players were sceptical with the international prices of the scrap steel, its raw material, likely to escalate again in the next few months.
