TOKYO: Japanese manufacturers have decided to raise prices of sheet steel for automakers, shipbuilders and consumer electronics makers by 5% to 10%, effective this month, a news report said yesterday.
The move comes amid a surge in the prices of iron and basic petrochemical materials, reflecting strong global demand, driven in large part by China.
