  • TRENERGY MALAYSIA BHD has signed a joint-venture agreement with Golden Lustre Sdn Bhd to bid for two proposed Tenaga Nasional Bhd projects. 

    It said the proposed projects were the 275 KV high capacity transmission line between Bukit Rajah and Shah Alam and the 275 KV transmission line between Kelemak and Melaka. Trenergy and Golden Lustre will have a 50% stake each in the joint venture. –AFX-Asia 

  • Press Metal Bhd proposes a 1-for-1 bonus issue of 84.86 million shares and a 1-for-4 renounceable rights issue of up to 42.43 million shares with free warrants. 

    It said the rights issue would be made after the bonus issue. On the exercise of the rights warrants, Press Metal would obtain additional proceeds to finance further working capital requirements . – AFX-Asia 

  • NEW YORK: U.S. energy producer and refiner Murphy Oil Corp expects lower-than-anticipated crude oil and natural gas sales volumes in the 1st quarter, citing lower sales volumes in Malaysia. 

    The El Dorado, Arkansas company also forecast quarterly earnings per share of between 90 US cents and US$1.10. Analysts on average expected it to earn US$1.04 a share, according to Reuters Research, a unit of Reuters Group Plc. – Reuters 

  • Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd’s subsidiary PPES Works (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (PPES) has been awarded a RM109.77mil contract for the proposed Jalan Mulukun/Ng Gaat (phase 1) in Kapit by the Sarawak state government. 

    The project was due for completion in 36 months from the date of notice to commence works, the company said in a statement. 

    CMS said the contract was not expected to have any material effect on the earnings, net tangible assets, share capital and substantial shareholdings for the financial year ending Dec 31.  

    The award of the contract is not subject to the approval of CMS shareholders or any government authorities. 

  • EBWORX BHD, a home-grown regional financial solutions specialist, has been awarded a contract worth RM1.61mil from PT Bank Permata, Indonesia, to implement its flagship digital credit management system (DCMS). 

    In a statement, its chief executive officer Tan Suan Fong said PT Bank Permata was the fourth bank that had chosen eBworx's products after PT bank Central Asia TBK, PT Bank Lippo, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk. 

    The RM1.61mil contract involves the licensing and implementation of the DCMS for Bank Permata's consumer banking services. 

    The project, which is expected to be completed within six months, will contribute positively towards the earnings of eBworx. – Bernama 

  • KUMPULAN HARTANAH SELANGOR BHD (KHSB) has signed an agreement with Budaya-Hikmat Sdn Bhd (BHSB) to acquire a piece of land in Sepang for RM29.38mil cash. 

    BHSB ‘will develop the land into a project dubbed “EcoMedia City”, which would accelerate the development of the overall area, KHSB said. – Bernama 

  • Uchi Technologies Bhd will see suspension of trading from April 23 to facilitate the company’s one-into-five share split, with the last trading day being April 22, a circular from the exchange said. 

    The ex-date for the exercise is April 27 and the entitlement date April 29. Uchi manufactures and designs electronic control systems. – Bernama
