TOKYO (AP) - Tokyo stocks surged Tuesday to finish above 12,000 points for the first time in more than two years, fueled by the U.S. dollar's gains against the Japanese yen.
The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 issues closed up 121.38 points, or 1.02 percent, at 12,079.70 points, its highest since Aug. 8, 2001, when the index finished at 12,163.67.
