BEIJING: Chinese consumers are looking to purchase more insurance policies to protect their families, prepare for retirement or cover possible medical expenses, according to a survey by Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB).
The survey also found that many mainland residents are buying insurance policies for protection or security rather than as investments, and 56% of residents intending to buy policies prefer local insurers to foreign companies or joint ventures.
