New SsangYong premium car model launched

Competitive Supreme Sdn Bhd, the sole importer and distributor of completely-built-up SsangYong vehicles from South Korea, launched the new Rexton RX270 Xdi at the weekend. 

Its managing director Muhammad Fadhil Ahmad said that last year the company had sold around 1,500 units of the Ssangyong models and was confident of increasing the figure to 2,500 units in 2004 following the introduction of the new improved model. 

The new Rexton is one of two premium models currently offered by the company, the other being the Chairman Luxury Saloon. 

“The Rexton has been extremely well received since its revival in mid-2002,” Fadhil said at the launch in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. 

The new 2.7-litre Rexton features an advanced new rail turbo diesel engine developed by SsangYong Motor Co. 

Competitive Supreme will be offering two version of the new Rexton: the RX270 Xdi priced from RM168,000 and the RX270 XdiLUX priced from RM188,000, both prices exclude the road cost. – Bernama
