  • SAMSUNG Electronics Co Ltd has appointed Jong-Duk Won as the new managing director for Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd.  

    Jong-Duk Won

    Won holds a MBA from Cambridge University and has been with Samsung for 18 years.  

    He was previously based in South Korea as senior manager, regional strategy group in Samsung's global marketing operations. 

    He will be responsible for identifying strategic business opportunities and overseeing the development of all SME divisions.  

  • BANK Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has appointed Datuk Ismail Shahudin as its chairman, with effect from March 30.  

    Ismail is also the group chief executive and executive director of Malaysia Mining Corp Bhd.  

    An economics graduate from Universiti Malaya, Ismail has served in several banks - Citibank Malaysia, United Asian Bank Bhd and Malayan Banking Bhd

    He also sits on the boards of Malakoff Bhd, Tronoh Mines Malaysia Bhd, Integrated Rubber Corp Bhd, Kramat Tin Dredging Bhd and IJM Corp Bhd.
