McDonald’s seeks lion’s share of local fast-food market

MCDONALD'S, which is ringing up sales of a few hundred million ringgit in Malaysia a year, is confident of dominating the fast-food industry here within the next five years. 

McDonald's Malaysia chief executive officer Bob Beard said the fast-food giant, which had been recording sales growth of between 10% and 15% a year, planned to invest RM30mil to RM40mil annually to open about 15 new outlets a year within the next couple of years.
