THE euphoria over Barisan Nasional's landslide election victory gave way temporarily yesterday to geopolitical concerns over likely retaliation by terrorist groups over the killing of the founder of the Palestinian group Hamas.

The KLSE Composite Index (CI) fell 1.2% or 11 points to 897, with losers outnumbering gainers by about three to one. But analysts were optimistic that the “feel good” sentiment resulting from the election outcome would carry the market higher once global political tension had eased.
