BEIJING: China will limit the amount of foreign currency local residents can change into yuan in its latest attempt to curb speculation of a yuan appreciation.
Weeks after halving the amount of US dollars that non-residents can change into yuan, China’s foreign exchange regulator said yesterday that approvals would be required for locals wishing to change US$50,000 or more into yuan, starting next month.
