HOT dogs have been a source of interest for husband-and-wife team Ahmad Zakir Jaafar and Tengku Rozidar Tengku Zainol Abidin, the founders of Nineteen O One Sdn Bhd, since they saw pushcarts selling hot dogs in the United States.
For those who are not familiar with 1901, it is a home-grown hot dog chain which started in July 1997 – July because it is the national hot dog month in the United States and 1901 was derived from the year the term “hot dog” was coined in New York.
