NEW YORK: US stocks fell on Friday, sending the Dow down more than 100 points, as derivatives expiring on quadruple witching day made for a volatile trading session, aggravated by security fears as the hunt for al-Qaeda leaders intensified.
Throughout the day, investors kept a close watch on US and Pakistani troops as they launched new attacks on suspected al-Qaeda leaders near Pakistans border with Afghanistan.
