TRADING in Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd's (Proton) 24.25 million call warrants exercisable into 24.25 million Proton shares will be suspended on March 25, an MSEB circular said.

The trading suspension on the warrants is to facilitate the transfer of Proton's listing to a new investment holding company, Proton Holdings Bhd.

The warrants are issued by state investment agency Khazanah Nasional Bhd and are exchangeable for Proton shares held by the latter.

Khazanah said the warrants might still be exercised during the period of suspension in line with terms in the trust deed.

It added that the exercise rights and exercise price of the warrants for Proton Holdings shares remained unchanged, on the basis of one warrant for one Proton Holdings share at a strike price of RM8.89 each.

The exercise period for the four-year warrant, which extends from Nov 19, 2003 to Nov 18, 2007 also remains unchanged. – AFX-Asia
