BANGKOK: The Islamic Bank of Thailand attracted 100 million baht (US$2.6mil) in deposits on the first day of operations of its newest branch, and plans to open 10 more branches by the end of the year, a news report said yesterday.
The seventh branch of the bank was formally opened on Monday in the Hat Yai district of Songkhla province by provincial governor Somporn Chaibangyang and Deputy Prime Minister Wan Muhamad Noor Matha.
