HONG KONG: A surge in bank takeovers in parts of Asia and Singapore’s renewed appetite for acquisitions are expected to generate a stronger 2004 for the region’s dealmakers.
Merger and acquisition (M&A) bankers say rallying stock markets will also underpin a rebound from a patchy 2003, when deal volumes in Asia, excluding Japan and Australia, fell 23% to US$94.1bil.
