THE Singapore government cut corporate taxes and unveiled a wealth of commercial incentives yesterday, causing its second straight budget deficit, as it fights to bolster the city-state as a key Asian business centre.
“With Asia on the rise, we must remake Singapore as a land of opportunity,” Finance Minister Lee Hsien Loong told parliament in possibly his last budget speech before becoming prime minister.
