Purchase of TA securities ops makes CIMB largest brokerage

CIMB Bhd sealed yesterday a deal with TA Enterprise Bhd to buy the latter's securities business for RM400mil, which will make it the largest stockbroking house in Malaysia. 

The investment banking group will issue 80 million new shares at RM5 apiece to take over the entire equity interests in Botly Securities Sdn Bhd, Borneo Securities Sdn Bhd, Kota Bahru Securities Sdn Bhd and TA Securities Bhd.
