BEIJING: A Chinese state newspaper said yesterday that allowing the yuan to rise would help ease trade friction, fuelling the protracted debate over the outlook for the currency amid official pledges to make it more flexible in time.
Senior officials have repeatedly said there is no plan to revalue the yuan, but that the exchange rate policy would be perfected in stages.
