SYDNEY: Australia’s central bank signalled yesterday that interest rates may need to increase further to cope with a credit boom and forestall expected inflationary pressure.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) said that signs pointed to a cooling in credit markets, which had been booming as the country’s housing market surged and Australians went on a borrowing binge.
