Singapore Airlines (SIA) has managed to more than double its quarterly profits thanks to cost cutting and an improvement in passenger traffic after last year's SARS outbreak.
And the Singapore flag carrier, reporting third-quarter results for the first time, said yesterday it expected more passengers to travel in the next six months than over the equivalent period a year ago unless the bird flu outbreak worsened or terrorists struck again.
