Asian stock markets, which climbed to multi-year highs last month, may be in for a rocky ride ahead with the outbreak of bird flu in many parts of the region and the continued weakness of the US dollar likely to erode export earnings.
Investors in Asian equities are beginning to worry that the lower exports to the United States may not be offset by sales to countries in the region, given that 11 of them have been hit by the bird flu virus which could take a toll on their economies, say analysts.
