SHANGHAI, China (AP) - Retail sales in Shanghai jumped 10.4 percent during the key Chinese New Year shopping week, adding to signs of rising consumer spending, the city government said Thursday.
Despite an unusual cold snap, 283 major Shanghai retailers reported combined sales of 2.4 billion yuan (US$300 million) during the weeklong holiday that ended Tuesday.
