MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine shares closed higher Tuesday, as investors were relieved by a smaller-than-expected credit rating downgrade by Moody's Investors Service and Wall Street's overnight gains, traders said.
The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 17.30 points, or 1.1 percent, to 1,565.00 after losing 12.32 points Monday.
