THE 20% increase in corrugated carton prices which took immediate effect is justified, as the raw materials needed in their production have risen by 30% since last August, Malaysian Corrugated Carton Manufacturers' Association (Maccma) president Soh Man Tong said.

Contacted by StarBiz yesterday, he attributed the rise to the strengthening of the Euro and high demand for raw materials like industrial brown paper and medium paper.
