SLOW, very slow that's the consensus among car dealers on the state of motor vehicle sales nearly three weeks after the government's announcement of new tariff structures for the industry.
The situation has not improved even after the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said last Wednesday that an estimated stock of 49,000 vehicles on which duties had been paid or currently in manufacturing plants or seaports could be sold based on the old pricing structure. Indeed, a check on car dealerships yesterday revealed very little activity.
