COMPETITIVE bidding will ensure that future privatised projects in Malaysia will not fail, said Finance Ministry's former secretary-general Tan Sri Clifford Herbert.
Speaking to the media at a conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Herbert said the absence of competitive bids had led to the failure of privatised projects like the light rail transit in Kuala Lumpur but said he did not believe most existing contracts for privatised projects should be withdrawn by the government.
