WASHINGTON: American telecommunications and computer equipment makers have signed contracts totalling US$2.3bil in value with Chinese companies, including deals worth about US$1.1bil to Motorola Inc.
Motorola, the world’s No. 2 maker of wireless phones, signed deals with wireless operators, China Unicom Ltd and China Mobile, on Tuesday to provide equipment to them, including wireless phones, base stations and switches that route mobile calls.
