FROM July 1, 2003, the KLSE has imposed what is called a Continuing Education Programme or CEP for all directors of public-listed companies (PLCs).
CEP requires all PLC directors to attend a certain minimum number of hours of lectures on topics concerning mainly Corporate Governance (CG) matters, such as, KLSE rules, SC rules, CG updates, accounting standards requirements, etc. All these programmes are very skewed towards knowing the rules of the game (the listing rules game), so to speak. It is as though successful companies are successful only if you know the game.
