GENERAL Motors Corp (GM) chairman and chief executive Rick Wagoner has dismissed fellow Detroit-based “Big Three” US automakers Ford Co and Chrysler as insignificant competitors in most countries in the Asia-Pacific.
“I certainly don’t mean any disrespect, but I’m not sure if we would necessarily categorise Ford and (Chrysler parent) DaimlerChrysler as our biggest rivals there,” he told Asian reporters at the 2004 North American International Motor Show here earlier this week.
