MALAYSIAN S. Chelliah may not be a familiar name in the local corporate circles but the entrepreneur from Johor Baru is the man behind the India-based company that produces the TajMahal herbal ponni rice, marketed locally by Bernas subsidiary, Syarikat Faiza Sdn Bhd.
A rice variety with low starch content and 30% more protein, the herbal ponni rice is produced by TajMahal Agro Industries Pte Ltd, a company set up by Chelliah in Chennai, India, in 2000.
