Genting 

THIS gaming counter, which was one of the day's top 10 gainers, added 30 sen to close at RM16.90 with 249,100 shares traded on the smooth transition of power from founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong to his son, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay on Jan 1. Kok Thay has been with Genting for over 20 years and is seen to be a worthy successor to his father as chairman of the group.  

Stock Watch On GENTING 

Hiap Teck 

SHARES of this steel and iron products manufacturer rose 4 sen to close at 80 sen yesterday on volume of 6.7 million shares. The company said in a recent AGM that it has plans to promote its products in new markets like Canada and the US, besides manufacturing more products, which command higher margins.
