HONG KONG: Shares in Fujian Zijin Mining Industry Co Ltd leapt 73% on their Hong Kong market debut yesterday as investors piled into the gold miner, excited by sizzling demand for China stocks.
Zijin shares ended the day at HK$5.70 after soaring to as high as HK$5.95 from their offer price of HK$3.30. The blue-chip Hang Seng Index, on the other hand, fell 0.54%.
