THE brand new and used car markets remain sluggish as the motoring community is delaying purchases in anticipation of cheaper cars under the Asean free trade area (Afta) tariff structure and new car models from Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd (Proton).
Although there are some signs of economic recovery locally, most car dealers, including used car dealers say Malaysians are generally holding back on buying cars and car sales have been slow.
