TOKYO: After 10 quarters of gloom, Japanese companies are finally feeling better about business conditions, thanks to robust exports and profits, a government survey showed yesterday.
The survey, which covers the October–December quarter, added to hopes for a sustained economic recovery, although separate capital spending data raised speculation that the strong gross domestic product (GDP) figures reported for July to September may be revised down.
