BEIJING: HSBC Holdings Plc, the largest foreign bank in China, is looking to boost its presence in China by acquiring stakes in domestic financial institutions.
“We will definitely be interested in looking at possibilities of increasing the shareholdings or investment in domestic financial institutions if ... underlying opportunities present (themselves),” Anita Fung, HSBC's treasurer and co-head of global markets in Asia Pacific, told reporters at a briefing.
