NEW YORK: US stocks edged up in light trading on Friday, as investors anticipated a solid holiday shopping weekend and more data next week likely to show the US economic recovery is accelerating.
However, thinly staffed trading floors across Wall Street kept a lid on activity the day after the Thanksgiving holiday, historically one of the slowest days of the year.
