  • TELEKOM shares rose 15 sen to close at RM8.50 yesterday on volume of 3 million units. Interest in the counter was boosted in large measure by the markedly improved third-quarter results the company announced last week ahead of the long Hari Raya break. Analysts noted in particular the good performance of Telekom's Data and Internet divisions, where revenues grew 128% and 75% respectively over the previous corresponding quarter.

  • AMFB stock closed 20 sen higher at RM5.30 as investors warmed to the news that the company had posted impressive second-quarter results that beat market estimates. Although many analysts said there was potential in the company due to the strong income stream from its Islamic banking operations, many investors had remained cautious about the counter.
