TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) - Taiwan's premier on Monday proposed a plan to spend 500 billion New Taiwan dollars (US$14.7 billion) in the next five years on new subways, museums, concert halls, reservoirs and sewage systems.
"By 2008, we will present to the world a more refined, efficient, high-tech and excellent Taiwan,'' said Yu Shyi-kun, Taiwan's No. 3 ranking leader.
