HP, Oracle aid networking


HEWLETT-PACKARD (HP) and Oracle Corp have spent US$10mil on five Partner Innovative Technology and Solution Centres (PITSTOPs) in Asean to foster a regional network of local independent software vendors (ISVs) and systems integrators (SIs). 

Hewlett-Packard Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director T. F. Chong, who launched the Malaysian US$500,000 PITSTOP yesterday, said the company expected to help local information technology (IT) entrepreneurs gain a larger regional market share with about US$100mil in export revenues from Asean over the next five years and to help strengthen Asean as an IT hub.
