THE US dollar slid to an all-time low of 1.1975 against the euro and near a three-year low of 107.86 versus the Japanese yen in Asia trade yesterday.
Fears that the American government might pursue a weak dollar policy to further protect its manufacturers following its decision to impose import quotas on selected Chinese textile products applied downward pressure on the greenback throughout the day.
